APC Suspends Senator Gbenga Daniel, Hon. Kunle Folarin in Ogun Over Anti-Party Allegations

The Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has confirmed the indefinite suspension of Senator Gbenga Daniel and Hon. Kunle Folarin over alleged anti-party activities.

The decision, ratified by the State Working Committee (SWC) led by Chief Yemi Sanusi, followed disciplinary proceedings initiated by Ward 4 and Ward 6 of Sagamu Local Government.

At its meeting on August 19, attended by 16 members, the SWC reviewed reports from the ward committees accusing the two politicians of misconduct and attempts to coerce party members into withdrawing petitions filed against them.

Despite being invited to appear before the panels or submit written defenses, Daniel and Folarin allegedly failed to honor the summons. The committees also claimed the duo harassed certain members in an effort to obstruct the disciplinary process.

After considering documentary evidence and testimonies presented, the committees resolved to suspend both men indefinitely, pending further review.

The SWC said its ratification of the suspension was necessary to uphold the integrity of the APC constitution and enforce internal discipline.

Confirming the development, APC State Director of Publicity, Nuberu Olufemi, said the party remained committed to fairness, accountability, and strict adherence to its rules and regulations.
