Ibom Air has imposed a lifetime ban on a passenger, Comfort Emmanson, following a violent onboard incident that disrupted a flight from Uyo to Lagos on Sunday, August 10, 2025.
A viral video captured Ms. Emmanson engaging in aggressive and unruly behavior after refusing to comply with pre-flight safety instructions to switch off her mobile phone. The situation escalated upon landing in Lagos, where she allegedly assaulted the Purser, forcibly removing her wig and glasses, stomping on her, and repeatedly slapping her.
Reports indicate that she also attacked another cabin crew member, attempted to remove a fire extinguisher, and resisted intervention from airport security. During the scuffle, she allegedly slapped the airline’s ground supervisor before being restrained.
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) security team handed her over to the Nigeria Police Force. Ibom Air confirmed that the matter has been reported to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, and Ms. Emmanson will never be allowed to board any of the airline’s flights again.
