Delta Central APC Backs Tinubu and Oborevwori for 2027 in Landmark Unity Declaration

In a bold and unprecedented political move, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta Central Senatorial District has unanimously adopted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as their sole candidates for the 2027 presidential and governorship elections, respectively.

The endorsement was announced during a mega unity meeting held in Ughelli on Sunday, drawing political heavyweights and grassroots supporters from across federal, state, and local government structures.

The motion for the dual endorsement was initiated by Francis Waive, member representing Ughelli/Udu Federal Constituency, who praised Tinubu’s economic reform agenda and Oborevwori’s performance in Delta State.

“In President Tinubu, we have a man of courage and vision tackling Nigeria’s economic challenges head-on. And in Governor Oborevwori, we see quiet but impactful delivery on the MORE agenda for Delta,” Waive said.

The motion was seconded by former House of Representatives member Halims Agoda, and later subjected to a voice vote by Senator Ede Dafinone of Delta Central — passing unanimously.

A vote of confidence was also passed on both Tinubu and Oborevwori, further solidifying the district’s support ahead of 2027.

Delivering a rousing speech, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Chief Festus Keyamo (SAN), described the unity meeting as a pivotal moment in APC’s political resurgence in Delta State.

“This isn’t just another gathering. It’s a foundational moment. President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda aligns seamlessly with Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda. Together, they’re delivering tangible results,” Keyamo stated.

He referred to Delta Central as the “Ukodo base” of the APC, asserting that no other senatorial district could have mobilized such unity.

“Since 1999, the Urhobo nation has never been this united. I’m betting everything I have — Delta will deliver 100 per cent to APC come 2027,” Keyamo declared.

Keyamo also announced plans to replicate the unity movement across all eight local government areas in Delta Central, urging party leaders to remain courageous and consistent.

Delta APC Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie, commended the strategic alliance between the party and Governor Oborevwori, noting that the event was more than a unity celebration — it was about forging a path forward.

“Delta APC is stronger, more united, and ready to deliver,” Sobotie emphasized.

Chief Paulinus Akpeki, Delta Central APC Chairman, hailed Oborevwori’s alignment with the party as a bold and strategic political realignment that is transforming Delta State’s political landscape.

Also speaking at the event were prominent leaders including 2015 APC governorship candidate O’tega Emerhor, Executive Director of NEXIM Bank Chief Stella Okotete, Chief Adviser to the Governor Ighoyota Amori, and Ughelli North LG Chairman Chief Jaro Egbo.
