ABUJA – The Federal Government of Nigeria has denounced the recent terrorist assault in South Kashmir’s Pahalgam region, which left 26 people dead, most of them tourists, and many others severely injured.
In a statement released on Tuesday by Kimiebi Ebienfa, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nigeria described the attack as a “heinous and tragic” act of violence, while extending heartfelt condolences to the government and people of India.
“Terrorism in all its forms and manifestations is a global menace that demands urgent, unified global action,” the statement read. Drawing from its own long-standing battle against terrorism, the Nigerian government reiterated its call for stronger international cooperation to combat extremism and prevent future atrocities.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and families affected by this tragedy. Nigeria stands firmly with India in the shared commitment to peace, security, and justice,” the statement concluded.
