Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, has officially reported Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo, and former Governor Yahaya Bello to the Nigeria Police Force following a violent attack on her family home in Obeiba-Ihima, Kogi State.
The senator raised the alarm via her official Instagram page, asserting that the three political figures should be held accountable if any harm comes to her. The attack, which occurred on Tuesday, was reportedly carried out by unidentified gunmen, raising concerns about her safety and that of her family.
“Nigerian police, I reiterate — should any harm befall me, Nigerian Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Ex-Gov. Yahaya Bello, and Gov. Usman Ododo of Kogi State should be held responsible,” Natasha stated.
This is not the first time the senator has voiced concerns about threats to her life. In a previous warning issued weeks ago, she urged Nigerians and security agencies to hold the same trio responsible if she or her associates became targets of violence.
In a twist to the ongoing political tension, former Governor Yahaya Bello on Wednesday petitioned the Inspector General of Police, accusing Senator Natasha of making defamatory statements against him.
The developments have further heightened political tensions in Kogi State, as calls grow for thorough investigations and assurances of safety for all involved.
