Former Manchester United and Bayern Munich footballer, Bastian Schweinsteiger, and his wife, tennis champion Ana Ivanovic, have reportedly separated after nine years of marriage.
According to German media outlet Blunte, the couple has been living apart for the past two months. Despite having three children together, their demanding lifestyles have placed a growing strain on their relationship. Ivanovic has remained in Serbia with their kids, while Schweinsteiger frequently travels internationally, creating both emotional and physical distance.
Notably, the couple hasn’t shared a photo together on Instagram since December 2024, and public appearances together have been nonexistent in recent months. Their fairytale wedding in Venice back in 2016 now feels like a distant memory.
While it is unclear whether reconciliation is possible, sources reveal that Ana is currently leaning on her family—her parents and brother—for support in Serbia, while Schweinsteiger is presently in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Schweinsteiger, who officially retired from professional football in October 2019, now works as a football analyst for ARD Sportschau. He also authored a biographical novel titled One of You in 2022, chronicling his life and sporting achievements.
