“My Father’s Lies, Juju & Infidelity Ruined Us” – Kemi Olunloyo Refuses to Mourn Late Omololu Olunloyo

Controversial journalist Kemi Olunloyo has openly dismissed sympathy messages following the passing of her father, Dr. Victor Omololu Olunloyo, a former governor of Oyo State. In a series of emotional posts and a video shared on Facebook, she revealed a deeply troubled family history, accusing her late father of emotional and physical abuse, infidelity, and occult practices that shattered their family.

Olunloyo directed well-wishers to her father’s Facebook page instead of offering her personal condolences, stating, *“I am not mourning. Send your condolences to his Facebook if you want. I’m still healing from the trauma he caused.”*

### **A Childhood Marred by Trauma**
Kemi Olunloyo recounted a horrific incident from her youth, which she blames entirely on her father’s negligence. At 13, her family was set to travel to Lagos, but her father delayed them for hours, claiming he was at work. Her mother warned against leaving late, but he insisted.

*“We left late, and on the way, hoodlums attacked us,”* she said. A rock was thrown into their car, striking her 8-year-old brother, Tayo, and killing the driver instantly. The attackers then set the vehicle on fire with the children inside. A rescuer pulled Kemi out, but she hit her head on the pavement and was forced to watch her brother burn alive before being sexually assaulted. She was later hospitalized at Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), where she received 17 stitches.

Years later, she discovered her father’s delay was due to an affair. *“He lied. He was sleeping with his mistress while we waited,”* she said bitterly. *“My assault—all of it—was his fault.”*

### **A Family Torn Apart**
Olunloyo declared she had severed ties with the Olunloyo family, stating, *“I am NOT part of the Olunloyo family anymore… I will never return to Nigeria even if my parents died.”*

Though she claimed to have forgiven her father, she maintained that his actions irreparably damaged their family. *“My father, Victor Omololu Olunloyo, is two different people. He was one person to the world; he was another person to the family,”* she said. *“My father destroyed our family unit; my father tortured us as kids. He tortured us emotionally and physically.”*

She accused him of exploiting her public image while privately neglecting her. *“My father marketed me as his favourite daughter to the world… but I was far from being his favourite. My father used me for a lot of things.”*

### **Allegations of Occultism and Infidelity**
Kemi Olunloyo alleged that her father engaged in occult practices, which she publicly called out on his 80th birthday. *“My father was into ‘juju’ heavily. My father was into occult practices… After I called him out, he went to Pastor (E.A.) Adeboye that he wanted to become born-again, and he did.”*

She traced the family’s turmoil to her father’s marriage to Ronke Sonaike (later Aderonke Omololu Olunloyo), a former campaign worker during his 1983 governorship bid. Ronke’s pregnancy allegedly enraged Kemi’s mother, who had married an intellectual, not expecting polygamy. *“My mother married an intellectual, a man who got his Ph.D. at 26 years old. And he turned into a polygamist. Not that polygamists are not good, but the way it happened to my family.”*

She described Ronke as a former schoolmate who became her father’s “concubine,” leading to further chaos. *“When Ronke came into our family, my father started all manners of occult things. It’s too long. It’s too painful.”*

### **Alleged Poisoning and Mysterious Coffins**
Kemi claimed her stepmother once attempted to poison her mother, nearly killing her. In retaliation, her mother allegedly placed a miniature coffin under Ronke’s son Olumide’s bed. *“Ronke said it’s my mom that put it there.”*

She also lamented her brother Tayo’s tragic fate, paralyzed for 43 years after the childhood attack. *“They ruined his destiny… Tayo would have been a great Mathematician.”*

### **Final Years and Isolation**
Towards the end of her father’s life, Kemi alleged that Ronke restricted access to him after a 2021 stroke. *“Nobody had access to him… Ronke did not give anybody access.”*

Despite her pain, Kemi maintained her resolve to move forward. *“I know that I’m special and I know what God brought me here for. They wanted to kill my story, but they didn’t.”*

Her revelations have sparked mixed reactions, with some sympathizing with her trauma while others question the timing of her disclosures. Regardless, Kemi Olunloyo remains unapologetic, refusing to mourn a man she holds responsible for a lifetime of suffering.
