The body of Mr Kenneth Tersoo Gyado, a humanitarian and the Convener of Alia Alliance World Wide, has been laid to rest amidst tears at his home town Tse Gyado Ihugh, Vandeikya Local Government Area of Benue State.
The deceased, popularly known as Kenny G, died on February 8, in Paris, France.
Sympathisers in their hundreds, including women, trooped to the village to mourn the death of Kenny G, whom they said had touched their lives in so many ways.
Rev. Fr Dr Hyacinth Alia, Governor of Benue State, said during the requiem that the deceased was a brother, supporter and a selfless man, who always places others first.
Governor Alia recalled how Kenny G personally formed and spearheaded a campaign support group, which led to his success in the 2023 gubernatorial elections.
He commisserated with all members of Alia Alliance World Wide, formed by the deceased, urging them to keep the legacies of Kenny G alive.
The governor thanked all and sundry for mourning the deceased and paying their last respect to a man who had been an embodiment of compassion and support for humanity.
“Kenny G is laying in this casket in the church he had contributed immensly in building, and the parish house too. May God give us all the ability to support the church and society as Kenny G did,” the governor said.
In a sermon during the funeral, the Rector of St Thomas Aquinus Major Seminary, Rev Fr Simeon Iber, urged all Christians to be prepared as they did not know when they would return to the great beyond.
The clergy advised Christians to always be prepared for death, and be prayerful and watchful, as well as “do good and render service to humanity”.
He described the death of Kenny G as a great loss to Christendom and the state at large.
In their seperate remarks, Senator Jack Gyado, uncle of the deceased, Mr Terry Waya and Mr Henry Nwanwuba, all described Late Kenny G as a humble, reliable and trusted brother. They prayed for the peaceful repose of his soul.
Late Kenny G is survived by an aged mother, wife, three children ,two siblings and many members of extended family.
Also many friends ,Business Associates , Relatives and Govt officials witnessed his burial.
