Hobnob News – Air Peace has taken decisive action after a passenger was caught red-handed stealing onboard one of its flights from Lagos to Port Harcourt. The suspect, whose identity has not been disclosed, was apprehended upon arrival at the Port Harcourt International Airport and has been handed over to law enforcement authorities for further investigation and possible prosecution.
In an official statement released on Thursday, Ejike Ndiulo, Head of Corporate Communications at Air Peace, confirmed that the passenger was found in possession of stolen items after a thorough search conducted by airline officials. The suspect has since been blacklisted from flying with Air Peace in accordance with the airline’s strict zero-tolerance policy on in-flight misconduct.
“We confirm an incident of in-flight theft onboard Flight P47190 on February 19, 2025. Air Peace remains unwavering in its commitment to passenger safety and security, and we have taken immediate and decisive action regarding this unfortunate situation,” Ndiulo stated.
The airline expressed growing concern over the rising cases of in-flight theft in recent weeks and has announced the implementation of stricter security measures to curb the menace. According to Ndiulo, Air Peace is increasing surveillance on all its flights, while cabin crew members have been instructed to heighten their vigilance throughout the duration of flights.
