U.S. Congressman Scott Perry claimed on February 14, 2025, that the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) funded the terrorist group Boko Haram during the Obama and Biden administrations.
“Under Obama and Biden, USAID was funding Boko Haram in Nigeria,” Perry stated during a public address, sparking widespread debate.
Boko Haram, a terrorist group responsible for numerous attacks in Nigeria, was designated as a terrorist organization by the U.S. Department of State in 2013.
USAID, whose mission is to promote humanitarian and developmental aid, has not issued an official response to the accusation. No evidence has been presented to confirm Perry’s claims.
