The Mbangur Community Elites’ Coalition (MECOA) has condemned Abua Yajir, also known as “Crucial PA”, for his alleged bribery claim against Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia of Benue State. MECOA, comprising bloodline relatives of Governor Alia, has demanded that Yajir provide evidence to support his claim that N4 billion was removed from Benue State’s allocation to oust Senator George Akume as Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).
In a statement, MECOA expressed concern over Yajir’s allegations, which they believe are not only untrue but also damaging to the reputation of Governor Alia and the people of Benue State. They have given Yajir 14 days to provide proof of his allegations, failure of which will lead to consequences in accordance with the law.
MECOA views Yajir’s public utterances as an attack not only on Governor Alia but also on President Tinubu’s administration. They question whether Yajir is suggesting that the President can be pressured into sacking the SGF through bribery. MECOA has urged Yajir to retract his statements and apologize to Governor Alia and the people of Benue State.
