South Korean authorities have raided the offices of Jeju Air and the operator of Muan International Airport as part of the investigation into Sunday’s fatal plane crash that killed 179 people. The search and seizure operations were conducted at three locations, including the airport where the Boeing 737-800 plane crashed.
The probe is ongoing, with investigators from South Korea and the US, including from Boeing, working to determine the cause of the crash. Both black boxes have been found, and decoding work is underway.
In response to the disaster, South Korea has announced plans to inspect all Boeing 737-800 aircraft operated by its carriers, focusing on the landing gear, which appears to have malfunctioned during the crash.
