A review of the Ekiti State budget performance document has revealed that the state government spent several billions of naira without budgetary allocation. According to the document, the state budgeted N18.9 billion for the state governor’s office expenditure in 2024, but spent N28.7 billion between January and September, exceeding the allocated amount by N9.8 billion.
Some of the notable expenditures without allocation include:

– *House of Assembly: N2.2 million spent, exceeding the allocated N1.2 million
– *Ministry of Special Duties: N22.3 million spent, exceeding the allocated N5 million
– *Ministry of Finance and Economic Development: N35.9 billion spent, exceeding the allocated N30.7 billion by N5.2 billion
