Benue Governor Offers 100% Master’s Degree Scholarships to First-Class Graduands

Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has announced a groundbreaking initiative to support the state’s top-performing students. During the combined convocation ceremony at Benue State University (BSU), the governor declared that all graduands who earned first-class degrees would receive 100% master’s degree scholarships.

This generous offer is part of Governor Alia’s efforts to prioritize education and youth development in Benue State. The governor also announced plans to establish satellite campuses of BSU in two senatorial districts, Benue North East and South, to increase access to education, particularly in rural areas.

Furthermore, Governor Alia donated 500 computers to the university’s computer-based test center, demonstrating his commitment to improving the state’s education infrastructure. The governor emphasized the importance of education in developing the human capital base across the state and encouraged the graduates to become good ambassadors of the institution and the state.

In addition to these announcements, Governor Alia revealed that his administration had sent an executive bill to the Benue State House of Assembly to rename the university after its founder, Reverend Father Moses Adasu.

He also expressed his commitment to sustaining the university’s partnership with the World Bank to improve the state’s economy and create job opportunities for youth.
