Kogi University Dismisses 4 Lecturers Over Exam and Sexual Misconduct

Four lecturers at Federal University, Lokoja, were dismissed for examination and sexual misconduct, as approved by the governing council during its Second Council Meeting on Thursday, November 14.

Last year, the council initiated an investigation after allegations of exam malpractices and sexual harassment surfaced against the lecturers.

Led by Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, the council commended the university management for adhering to due process throughout the investigation regarding examination misconduct and sexual harassment by the lecturers.

“The council will not tolerate any unethical conduct in the university,” it emphasized, urging the university to expedite addressing other pending misconduct cases, particularly one in the Faculty of Science currently trending in the media.

In addition, staff and lecturers were cautioned against any form of student molestation, with the council reiterating that no misconduct would be disregarded. It also encouraged students to speak up if they face any form of molestation, ensuring that their concerns would be taken seriously.
