Nigeria’s National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, has sounded a stark warning to the emerging terror group, Lakurawa, operating in the North-West region, vowing that the group will not thrive under President Bola Tinubu’s leadership.
Ribadu declared that Lakurawa’s days are numbered if they fail to cease their activities, emphasizing, “Nobody dares President Bola Tinubu and gets away with it.” He deemed the group’s timing a grave miscalculation.
This warning comes on the heels of the Defence Headquarters’ confirmation of Lakurawa’s activities, which have spread terror across Sokoto and Kebbi states. Major General Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, described Lakurawa as exacerbating insecurity in the North-West.
Ribadu’s statement underscores the government’s commitment to combating terrorism and ensuring national security. The situation remains fluid, with developments expected in the coming days.
