In a historic victory, Nigerian-born bodybuilder Samson Dauda has clinched the prestigious 2024 Mr. Olympia title, securing a record-breaking prize of $600,000 (approximately 900 million naira).
Dauda, based in the United Kingdom, outmuscled 14 elite athletes at the Resorts World Theatre in Las Vegas, USA, to claim the ultimate crown. Hadi Choopan and Derek Lunsford secured second and third places, respectively.
Dauda’s triumph marked a milestone in Nigerian sports history, earning him the People’s Champion title. This achievement echoes the legacy of legendary bodybuilder Arnold Schwarzenegger, a six-time Mr. Olympia winner.
With this monumental win, Dauda cements Nigeria’s presence in the global bodybuilding arena, inspiring a new generation of athletes.
