Ohanaeze Ndigbo Names Senator Okpebholo ‘Chibuzo’, Endorses Him for Edo Governor

Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, has endorsed Edo APC Candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo for governor, dubbing him “Chibuzo” meaning “God is on my way”. Chief Ide, Edo State’s Ohanaeze leader, praised Okpebholo as “a man of few words but plenty of action”.

Chief Ide revealed Okpebholo’s connection to the Igbo community: “When I called him, he confirmed Okpebholo is his son and pleaded that the Igbo community in Edo should give him more support”.

Okpebholo addressed Ohanaeze Ndigbo, saying: “I’m an Igbo man, having done business and learned the ropes with an Igbo man”. He pledged to transform Edo into a modern city, declare a state of emergency in infrastructure development, secure the state for investments, provide interest-free loans to Igbo cooperative societies, and govern without tribal or religious bias.

Okpebholo criticized the current administration’s “debt crisis of over 1 trillion naira” and vowed to “create opportunities for businesses to thrive”.

Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu hailed Okpebholo as “a proactive leader dedicated to transforming the state”. Unlike the PDP candidate’s attempt to connect with Igbo through his wife, Okpebholo is a genuine Igbo community member driving positive change.

Okpebholo’s endorsement solidifies his connection to the Igbo community, showcasing his dedication to inclusive governance and economic growth.
