In a significant political shift, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ward 7, Egor Local Government Area, has received a major boost as former Labour Party (LP) members, led by Dr. Zion Osawaru Evbuomwan, have defected to the APC, pledging their support for Senator Monday Okpebholo’s gubernatorial bid.
The well-attended APC ward meeting saw key leaders, including Ward Chairman Kingsley Ogieva and Hon. Desmond Ugbo, welcome Dr. Evbuomwan and his supporters. Dr. Evbuomwan cited his conviction in Senator Okpebholo’s victory as the reason for his defection, promising to mobilize his political structure to ensure APC’s triumph.
The Ward Chairman assured the new entrants of equal rights and privileges, while prominent APC members lauded Dr. Evbuomwan’s bold decision. The meeting concluded with the presentation of the party’s symbol, the broom, to the new members, solidifying their integration.
This development marks a significant gain for the APC in Egor LGA, as the party continues to build momentum ahead of the gubernatorial election. The defection of LP members and their leader underscores the growing confidence in APC’s ability to deliver victory for Senator Okpebholo and the people of Edo State.
