It was gathered by Hobnob News reports that a 53-year old man, Kingsley Udeala, was on Monday arraigned before a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court over alleged land fraud.
Me Udeala, whose address was not given, is being charged with fraud, to which he pleaded not guilty.
Insp Edet Ekpo, the pesecutor told the court that the defendant committed the offence at about 2.00p.m on May 5, 2017, at Oko Rice, Itoga, Badagry, Lagos.
Insp Ekpo said that Udeala collected the sum of N720,000 from the complainant, Amaka Onwukwe, with the pretext of buying a plot of land.
Apparently, the prosecutor said the defendant did not purchase the land after collecting the money
According to him, the offence contravened Section 314 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos, 2015.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr L A Layeni, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000, with two sureties in like sum.
The case was adjourned till 6th May.
