Security forces have killed notorious bandit leader Dogo Gide, responsible for numerous attacks, including the downing of a military helicopter.
According to reports, Dogo Gide succumbed to gunshot wounds sustained during a confrontation with Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD) forces in the challenging terrain of Madada forest in Maru local government area on March 12, 2024.
Despite severe injuries, he was clandestinely transported to a hospital in Mabera, Sokoto, Sokoto State, where he later passed away.
Dogo Gide, a wanted criminal known for his atrocious acts in the region, was buried in Dandalla Village on March 24.
His presence at the hospital allegedly facilitated by a detained security official raised concerns about potential collusion within the security forces.
The successful elimination of Dogo Gide represents a significant achievement for the Nigerian security forces, demonstrating the joint efforts of 1 Division and 8 Division of the Nigerian Army.
Dogo Gide has ties to ANSARU and other major terrorist groups and has been implicated in serious crimes, including the shooting down of a military helicopter in the Dansadau-Birmin Gwari area and the abduction of students from Federal Government College Yauri.
