It was gathered by Hobnob News reports that the House of Representatives Committee on Public Petition on Thursday summoned the Minister of Foreign Affairs to produce the Chinese ambassador to Nigeria before the Committee on 5th of December after hearing the public petition by the One Love Foundation.
The Committee observed the salient pionts made by human rights lawyer, Samuel Ihensekhien on behalf of the founder of the One Love Foundation, Chief Patrick Osagie Eholor (aka Ultimate Equals) over how he was treated by the Chinese authorities and banks on his business trip to China.
One Love Foundation had in a petition to the Committee dated 3rd October sought for responses on some salient issues on Nigerians being labelled as money launderers in China.
According to Hobnob News reports, in the petition signed by the President of the One Love Foundation, Chief Patrick Osagie Eholor he asked the House “to address a pressing issue which Nigeria citizens are currently facing in China.”
He said when he recently visited China “for some business reasons and then I ran out of Chinese cash. I have to call in for some money. The money was sent via Western Union but I could not withdraw in Chinese Bank on account that I am from Nigeria and Nigerians are in their black book under money laundering.”
Chinese ambassador to Nigeria should be invited by the House to make clarifications on the subject matter and why are the entire Nigerians in the black book under money laundering instead of some Nigerians who committed crime there?.
