Adeleke approves N2.1bn gratuity for Osun contributory pensioners

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has approved the release of bond certificates worth N2.1 billion for the accrued right benefits of another batch of retirees under the Contributory Pension Scheme.

The beneficiaries cut across pensioners that left service at the state and Local Government levels.

A statement by the State Head of Service, Mr. Leye Aina, obtained in Osogbo on Wednesday, said the development was in consonance with one of Adeleke’s campaign promises, relating to ensuring the welfare of pensioners and active workers.

The government further explained that the beneficiaries were; retired staff of Local Government Areas, Local Council Development Areas, Area Councils, Ministries, Departments & Agencies, Secondary Schools, Tertiary Institutions and Parastatals.

It partly read, “The Governor of Osun State, His Excellency, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, has graciously approved the release of bond certificates worth N2.1bn for the payment of accrued right benefits of another batch of Retirees under the Contributory Pension Scheme at the State and Local Government levels.

“Accordingly, His Excellency, the Governor, will preside over the presentation of the Bond Certificates to the beneficiaries.”
