Atiku Promises to support South East businesses with $10b

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, yesterday, promised to set aside $10b to support businesses in the South East. He said this at the PDP campaign in Umuahia, Abia State

Though the state party leader Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, was absent, Atiku promised to actualise the lingering Abia Dry Port project, just as he would set aside $10b to support businesses in the South East.

He also promised that his government would be disposed to giving Abia what it wants, saying that the requests and demands of the South East are in line with his promises.

His running mate and Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, who canvassed votes for the Atiku/Okowa ticket, noted that the zone has suffered and was still suffering because it has no reasonable positions in government.

According to the party’s National Chairman, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, the South East needs outstanding leaders in positions of authority. According to him, unlike in other political parties, in PDP, no individual or group owns the party or can destabilise the party.

Immediate past Abia State Governor, Senator Theodore Orji, who is also the Director General of the Atiku/Okowa Campaign in the South East, described Atiku as an easily marketable product hence a vote for him is rewarding and not a waste.
