African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate and human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, has called on Nigerians to rise against what he described as an “oppressive regime.”
Sowore made the call on Tuesday through a statement shared on his verified X handle, urging citizens to intensify efforts toward what he termed a revolution and to make their voices heard.
According to him, Nigerians should join the “revolutionary train” and continue mobilizing people across the country.
“Let us continue to mobilize for the revolution. It is our duty to keep conscientizing the people, spreading the message of revolution, and dismantling this oppressive regime,” he said.
He added, “This is the time for Nigerians to join the revolutionary train and make their voices heard. The fight continues until we win! Revolution Time! Revolution Now!”
The call comes a day after the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja ordered Sowore’s remand at Kuje Correctional Centre in the Federal Capital Territory.
The court’s decision was delivered on Monday, though details surrounding the charges and subsequent proceedings were yet to be fully disclosed at the time of filing this report.
Sowore, a former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress and publisher of Sahara Reporters, has remained a prominent voice in Nigeria’s pro-democracy and social justice movements, frequently advocating for reforms and mass civic action.
