Police Confirm IED Explosion at Lagos Market, One Injured*

Speaking to journalists at the scene on Monday, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Fatai Tijani said the command immediately deployed officers, including Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) experts, after receiving reports of the blast.
According to Tijani, the affected area was swiftly cordoned off and subjected to a thorough security sweep. Preliminary investigations revealed that the explosive device had been concealed beneath the passenger side of a vehicle and detonated when the vehicle was started.
He disclosed that one person sustained injuries in the incident and was rushed to a hospital, where the victim is receiving treatment and remains in stable condition.
The police commissioner further stated that no other explosive devices were discovered during the operation, assuring residents and traders that the situation had been fully contained.
Tijani urged members of the public to remain calm and continue their daily activities, stressing that security agencies are maintaining vigilance in the area.
