Obasa Declares Interest in Agege Reps Seat Ahead of APC Primaries

The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has declared his intention to contest for the Agege Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives ahead of the forthcoming primaries of the All Progressives Congress.

Obasa announced his decision on Tuesday during a stakeholders’ meeting held in Agege, Lagos, where he disclosed that leaders of the APC in the area had prevailed on him to join the race for the federal legislative position.

According to the Speaker, consultations with party leaders and supporters informed his decision to seek the ticket to represent the constituency at the National Assembly.

He noted that the move was aimed at sustaining effective representation for the people of Agege and strengthening the party’s influence in the constituency ahead of the next general elections.

Party stakeholders at the meeting reportedly expressed support for Obasa’s ambition, describing him as an experienced lawmaker with a long-standing record in legislative leadership and grassroots politics.

Obasa has represented Agege Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly for several terms and currently serves as Speaker of the state legislature.
