
The Deputy Governor of Benue State, His Excellency, Barr. Dr. Sam Ode, mni, has expressed profound sorrow over a fatal road accident that occurred on Wednesday along the Makurdi–Lafia road. The crash involved members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who were traveling to Lafia, Nasarawa State, to attend the party’s North-Central Zonal Convention.
The incident has caused immense grief to the families of the victims, as well as to the APC and the wider Benue community.
Describing the tragedy as “heartbreaking,” Dr. Ode paid tribute to the victims, noting that they were committed party members on an important political mission.
“I extend my heartfelt condolences to the victims, their families, the leadership and members of the APC in Ogbadibo Local Government Area, and all those affected by this tragic incident,” he stated.
The Deputy Governor also expressed sympathy for those injured in the accident, wishing them a speedy and full recovery. He urged road users to exercise caution and adhere strictly to traffic regulations, particularly during long-distance journeys.
Reaffirming the government’s support, Dr. Ode assured that the Benue State Government stands in solidarity with the victims, their families, and all party members during this difficult time.
