The political crisis in Rivers State may be heading toward resolution following a late-night intervention by President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
A report circulating on Monday said the President met with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike; Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara; and other key political figures from the state. Although the outcome of the meeting was not officially disclosed, sources cited by the newspaper said Governor Fubara later accompanied Wike to his residence in Guzape, Abuja.
The report further alleged that Governor Fubara appealed to the minister and pledged to uphold mutual respect, a gesture viewed by observers as a significant step toward de-escalating tensions and fostering reconciliation among the state’s political leadership.
