The Edo State Coordinator of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Dr. Theodore Ehannire, alongside members of his team, has paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Commander of the 4 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Brigadier General A.O. Balogun, at the Brigade Headquarters.



The visit was aimed at strengthening collaboration and fostering a sustained institutional relationship between the NHIA and the Nigerian Army, particularly in the area of health insurance coverage and access to quality healthcare services for military personnel and their dependants.
Dr. Ehannire congratulated Brigadier General Balogun on his appointment and reaffirmed NHIA’s commitment to supporting the healthcare needs of officers and men of the Nigerian Army through effective implementation of health insurance schemes. He emphasized the Authority’s mandate to ensure universal health coverage and noted the strategic importance of the Armed Forces as key stakeholders in the national health insurance ecosystem.
In his response, Brigadier General Balogun expressed appreciation for the visit and commended the NHIA for its efforts in improving healthcare access across the country. He assured the NHIA delegation of the Brigade’s readiness to collaborate in advancing initiatives that promote the health and welfare of military personnel.
The visit concluded with mutual assurances of continued partnership and cooperation in pursuit of improved healthcare delivery and service efficiency.
