ORBUNDE SAYS SECURITY RESPONSIBILITY OF ALL

‎All Progressives Congress, APC, 2027 governorship aspirant in Benue State, Honorable Terwase Orbunde, has solicited collective action to tackle the worsening insecurity in the State. Orbunde spoke yesterday in Abuja during a meeting with APC Zone C Elders Forum, where he formally sought support.
‎Accompanied by Dooyum Shango-Praise, Comrade Mathew Odiba and Hajia Maryam Dalhat, he lamented the alarming state of insecurity across Benue, stressing that finding a solution to the crisis was a collective responsibility.
‎The former Chief of staff to the Governor revealed that the current situation of insecurity in Benue State shows that 18 out of 23 local government areas in the State remain under siege, resulting in over 1.5 million internally displaced persons.
‎He noted that if voted into power in 2027 Orbunde promised to introduce an ” Early Warning System”to effectively address insecurity and protect vulnerable communities, especially in the volatile Northern border are.
‎“It is our responsibility to seek a solution to the insecurity in Benue State. I believe that by the grace of God we must look at possible ways to bring an end to what is happening in our state,” he said.
‎Reflecting on his previous attempt to govern the state, Orbunde recalled that he had once purchased the governorship nomination form, driven by a desire to take Benue to greater heights.
‎“This is not the first time I have sought to be governor. I came into the race before because I knew the state deserved to be lifted out of insecurity and underdevelopment,” he stated.
‎The APC chieftain emphasized that the decision of key stakeholders in Zone C would play a critical role in shaping the political future of Benue State.
‎Orbunde outlined what he described as the five pillars necessary for societal progress which he said were protection of lives and property, rule of law, functional education, science and technology, and a fair reward system stressing that any society that wants to move forward must have these five pillars in place.
‎In separate remarks, members of the APC Zone C Elders Forum, Chief Ameh Sylvester, Comrade Abba Yaro, Rt. Hon David Idoko, and Patricia Kupchi pledged their readiness to support credible leadership for Benue.
