President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has congratulated Nigeria’s senior national football team, the Super Eagles, on their qualification for the semi-finals of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.
In a congratulatory message, Akpabio described the Super Eagles as the pride of the nation following their impressive 2–0 victory over Algeria, which secured them a well-deserved place in the last four of the continental competition.
He noted that the team’s achievement reflects their unwavering dedication, resilience, and strong sense of teamwork throughout the tournament. According to the Senate President, the players have once again demonstrated Nigeria’s rich footballing heritage and competitive spirit on the African stage.
Akpabio urged the Super Eagles to remain focused and sustain their winning momentum as they prepare to face host nation Morocco in the semi-final clash scheduled for Wednesday. He expressed confidence in the team’s ability to rise to the occasion and encouraged them to go all the way by bringing the AFCON trophy home.
The Senate President also commended the technical crew and supporters for their continuous backing, describing the team’s progress as a source of joy and unity for Nigerians at home and abroad.
