COCIN Regional Chairman Vows to Present Evidence of Alleged Christian Genocide to Trump

The Regional Chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) for Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, has vowed to personally present what he described as concrete evidence of an alleged genocide against Christians in Plateau State to United States President, Donald Trump.

Rev. Dachomo made the declaration in a video message posted on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Thursday, where he accused terrorists and bandits of deliberately targeting Christian communities for elimination.

According to the cleric, he possesses sufficient facts and documented evidence which he intends to submit to President Trump in order to counter repeated denials by the Nigerian government that Christians are being systematically attacked in the state.

He argued that the persistent killings, destruction of communities, and displacement of Christian populations in parts of Plateau State point to an organised campaign of violence rather than random criminal activities.

Rev. Dachomo expressed concern that the plight of affected Christian communities has continued to receive inadequate attention, insisting that international intervention has become necessary to halt the ongoing violence.

He further called on the global community, particularly the United States, to closely examine the situation in Plateau State and take decisive steps to hold perpetrators accountable and ensure protection for vulnerable populations.

The Nigerian government has consistently maintained that the violence in Plateau and other parts of the country is driven by criminality and communal conflicts, not religious persecution. However, Rev. Dachomo’s statement adds to growing claims by some religious leaders and rights advocates that Christians are being deliberately targeted.

The video message has since sparked reactions across social media, reigniting debate over the nature of insecurity in Plateau State and the broader Middle Belt region of Nigeria.
