Governor Siminalayi Fubara has stated that his administration is prioritising funding for key areas such as bridging infrastructural gaps, enhancing campus security, and improving welfare for staff and students.
Speaking at the combined 37th and 38th convocation ceremony of Rivers State University (RSU) in Nkpolu-Oroworukwu, Port Harcourt, Fubara said he continues to serve as governor beyond the six-month emergency rule due to the “special favour” of President Bola Tinubu.
He reiterated his commitment to fully supporting the university and its community, while addressing concerns raised by RSU management. Fubara explained that previous challenges stemmed from political instability that affected the state earlier in his administration.
“Like you mentioned, a report was submitted. But you all know the challenges that marked the early days of our administration,” he said. “It is only by the special favour of Mr President that we are still here overseeing Rivers State.”
The governor assured stakeholders that his government has resumed full administrative responsibility and would resolve all issues raised during the ceremony.
