Reno Omokri, former presidential aide and public commentator, has publicly stated that his perception of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu changed after the Supreme Court cleared the president of certain allegations.
Omokri, who had previously criticized Tinubu over his academic credentials and alleged drug‑related links, said his stance shifted after reviewing credible evidence confirming that Tinubu graduated from Chicago State University. He also cited the Supreme Court’s dismissal of claims linking the president to drug-related offences as pivotal in altering his opinion.
In addition to legal and factual clarifications, Omokri noted that Tinubu’s recent performance in office and initiatives under his administration contributed to his renewed confidence in the president’s leadership. He described Tinubu as demonstrating forgiveness, patriotism, and national healing, qualities he believes are essential for effective governance.
Following this reassessment, Omokri has publicly declared support for Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda and expressed hope that the president completes two terms in office. He encouraged Nigerians to evaluate leadership based on verified facts and tangible achievements rather than unverified claims.
Omokri is among the nominated ambassadors by President Tinubu.
