Terrorists struck the Maga Comprehensive Girls’ Secondary School in Kebbi State early Monday, abducting an unknown number of female students and killing a staff member.
The attack, which happened around 5:52 a.m. as students prepared for the day, also left a school guard injured. The gunmen reportedly fired sporadically while advancing into the school premises, according to HumAngle.
Sources told SaharaReporters that the assailants fled with several students but have not moved far, prompting residents to call on federal and state authorities for swift rescue efforts.
The assault comes just hours after armed men, described locally as bandits, attacked Rogun village in the Kpada District of Patigi LGA, Kwara State. In that incident, which occurred late Sunday, the attackers stormed a police outpost and engaged officers in a prolonged gun battle.
Two security personnel — a police constable and a vigilante — were killed in the exchange.
