The Israeli military has confirmed the elimination of a high-ranking Iranian drone commander, escalating tensions between the two regional powers. According to the IDF spokesperson, Amin Pour Judaki, who led the second unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) unit within Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Air Force, was killed in an Israeli airstrike carried out by fighter jets.
Judaki assumed a critical role in Iran’s drone operations following the death of his predecessor, Tahar Pour, who was eliminated on June 13, 2025, during the initial phase of Israeli operations inside Iran. Pour had served as the head of the IRGC’s drone command. With his death, Judaki stepped in to lead a segment of the UAV command structure, becoming instrumental in coordinating aerial threats against Israel.
The IDF revealed that Judaki had overseen and facilitated the launch of hundreds of drones targeting Israeli territory, operating primarily from the Ahvaz region in southwestern Iran. This area has been a strategic hub for Iran’s drone development and deployment, posing a persistent threat to Israeli airspace.
This latest strike forms part of an ongoing Israeli campaign targeting key figures within Iran’s drone warfare apparatus. By neutralising Judaki, the IDF aims to disrupt Iran’s drone capabilities and deter further attacks. The operation reflects a broader Israeli strategy of preemptive defense, targeting those directly involved in orchestrating cross-border threats.
No statement has yet been released by Iranian authorities confirming Judaki’s death, but pro-government media in Iran have acknowledged increased Israeli air activity and casualties in the region. As hostilities continue, the elimination of senior IRGC figures underscores the intensifying shadow war between Israel and Iran, particularly in the domain of drone warfare.
