As tensions between Israel and Iran continue to spiral, Israel’s Home Front Command has issued a nationwide advisory urging citizens to avoid public gatherings and limit movement in public spaces.
The caution, disclosed in a statement released on Sunday by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), comes amid a sharp escalation in hostilities between the two regional rivals.
“Movement in public areas should be minimised, and public gatherings must be avoided,” the IDF stated. “Upon receiving an alert, enter a protected space and remain there until an official update is issued.”
The Home Front Command, a division of the IDF responsible for civil protection, emphasized the importance of remaining close to designated protected areas as the security situation remains fluid and unpredictable.
The advisory follows a series of deadly military exchanges between the two nations. Last Thursday, Israel carried out multiple airstrikes targeting Iranian military facilities, reportedly killing several of the country’s top military commanders. In a swift and massive retaliation, Iran launched hundreds of ballistic missiles toward Israel, with Israeli authorities confirming at least three fatalities from the strikes.
The situation marks one of the most dangerous escalations between the countries in recent history, raising fears of a broader regional conflict. Air raid sirens and alerts have become more frequent across Israeli cities, prompting heightened concern among civilians and prompting the IDF’s stern advisory.
Authorities have urged citizens to stay informed through official channels and follow all emergency instructions as they work to monitor and respond to evolving threats.
