The Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced a minor shake-up in its leadership, appointing Sylvester Aigboboh as the Acting Deputy State Chairman and Pedro Esangbedo as the Acting Vice Chairman for the Edo Central Senatorial District.
The announcement was made in a statement released on Sunday by the newly elevated State Chairman, Emperor Jarret Tenebe, and the State Secretary, Lawrence Okah. According to the statement, the appointments are effective immediately.
The leadership changes come on the heels of two major shifts within the party. Chief Jarret Tenebe was promoted from his role as Deputy State Chairman to State Chairman, while Francis Inegbeniki, the former Vice Chairman for Edo Central, recently defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
To ensure continuity and efficient party operations, Aigboboh and Esangbedo will serve in an acting capacity until the next state congress of the APC is conducted.
“By the provisions of the APC constitution and for the continued efficiency of the party’s operations, it became imperative to fill these positions with individuals of proven character and integrity,” the statement read.
Both appointees are expected to work closely with the current state leadership to strengthen the party’s structure and strategy as preparations for the 2027 general elections begin to gather momentum.
This leadership restructuring signals the party’s readiness to consolidate its base and present a united front ahead of future political contests in Edo State.
