The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has welcomed back Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, the 2023 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, into its fold. Jandor’s return to the APC comes weeks after he resigned from the PDP on March 3, citing lack of discipline and betrayal by the party’s leaders.
In a press conference held in Ikeja, Lagos, Jandor announced his decision to rejoin the APC, stating that the party is the best alternative to deliver good governance to Lagosians and Nigerians. He also revealed that his decision was made after extensive consultations with his supporters, associates, and leaders across various parties.
The State APC Spokesman, Mr. Seye Oladejo, expressed the party’s excitement to welcome Jandor back, saying, “He is welcome home. We are happy that he now appreciates the fact that Lagos State is still better and safer in the hands of the progressives.” Oladejo also believes that Jandor’s return will contribute to the continuous success of the APC government and the growth of the party in Lagos State.
Jandor’s defection back to the APC is seen as a significant development in Lagos politics, given his influence as a leader of the Lagos4Lagos Movement and his previous stint as an APC governorship aspirant. His return is expected to boost the APC’s chances in future elections in the state.
