Yoruba Nation agitator and activist Sunday Adeyemo, widely known as Sunday Igboho, has dismissed recent rumors of his demise, describing them as baseless and an attempt to derail the ongoing self-determination struggle.
In a statement released by his media aide, Olayomi Koiki, on Friday, Igboho reassured his supporters and the general public that he is alive, well, and resolute in his mission. The activist emphasized that the false claims about his death originated from the Seyi Tinubu Youth Battalion Facebook page, urging the public to disregard the misleading reports.
A Call for Vigilance
“We want to assure the general public and supporters of the Yoruba Nation movement that Dr. Chief Sunday Adeyemo Igboho is alive, well, and in high spirits,” the statement read. “There is no truth to the rumors being spread by certain individuals and groups trying to mislead the public. This is a deliberate attempt to tarnish his image and derail the ongoing self-determination struggle.”
Igboho urged his supporters to remain steadfast and focused on the collective goal of securing self-determination for the Yoruba people. “Let it be known that our mission for the self-determination of the Yoruba people remains strong and unshaken. We call on our supporters to remain vigilant and focused on our collective goal.”
Addressing Corruption and Insecurity
The activist also highlighted the pressing issues of corruption and insecurity in Nigeria, which he said have eroded the pride many Nigerians once had in their citizenship.
According to Igboho, these challenges have led to a growing determination among Yoruba youth to establish a prosperous, modern Yoruba nation modeled after successful societies in Europe. “The youth, enriched by global exposure, are eager to transform the Yoruba nation into a beacon of progress and modernity,” he noted.
