Femi Fani-Kayode, a former minister and prominent figure in the All Progressives Congress (APC), has announced the sudden passing of his long-serving aide, Ndifreke Saviour Mark. Ndifreke, who served Fani-Kayode for 34 years, was described as his “most trusted aide” and “like a son”.
The tragic incident occurred on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at Mildy Lodge and Apartments in Garki, Abuja. According to Fani-Kayode, Ndifreke attended a morning church service before heading to the hotel, where he slumped and died in the presence of an unidentified individual. The police are conducting a thorough investigation and have arrested the individual, the hotel receptionist, and manager .
Fani-Kayode expressed his sorrow and commitment to seeking justice, ensuring that Ndifreke’s family is supported during this difficult time. He reflected on their close bond, shared dreams, and aspirations, vowing to ensure justice is served if foul play is discovered.
In his emotional tribute, Fani-Kayode said, “Mark was like a son to me, and his passing is a huge blow to me and my entire family. I have absolute confidence in the FCT Police Command to get to the bottom of this matter, after which we can proceed to bury a man who was my most loyal staff and trusted aide.”
The police investigation is ongoing, with the hotel room sealed and the individual who was with Ndifreke at the time of his death in custody. Fani-Kayode has assured Ndifreke’s family of his support and vowed to ensure justice is served .
