PDP Summons FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike Over Anti-Party Activities

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has summoned FCT Minister Nyesom Wike to appear before a disciplinary committee over alleged anti-party activities. Deputy National Publicity Secretary Ibrahim Abdullahi disclosed this in an interview with Channels TV, stating that the committee has written Wike a letter inviting him to appear over his recent comments about the party.

Abdullahi said Wike’s statement about “putting fire in their states” regarding PDP governors is unacceptable. “Wike should be able to manage his words carefully; that was a very disappointing remark. We weren’t expecting him to say that, and we are not with him on that, to be honest with you.”

This development comes after Wike expressed his contentment with serving under President Bola Tinubu, despite criticisms and speculations surrounding his appointment. Wike declared, “Anyone angry with my position in Tinubu’s government should go and hug the transformer.”

The PDP’s move suggests that Wike’s comments and actions may have caused friction within the party. His appointment as FCT Minister under a different party’s administration has raised eyebrows, and his statements may have further exacerbated the situation. The disciplinary committee’s summons indicates that the PDP is taking steps to address Wike’s alleged anti-party activities and comments.
