Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson fired back at former Chelsea midfielder Mikel Obi after his impressive performance against Wolves, telling the ex-player to “shut your mouth” and showing his frustration with the criticism.
The drama unfolded after Mikel Obi criticized Jackson’s performance against Manchester City last Sunday, stating that the Senegalese forward missed too many chances and suggesting that Chelsea should consider signing Victor Osimhen as an alternative.
However, Jackson silenced his critics on the pitch by scoring Chelsea’s opening goal in their 6-2 victory over Wolves, marking the club’s fastest Premier League goal since 2017. The forward headed in at the back post inside the opening two minutes for Chelsea’s first goal.
Following the match, Jackson took to social media to address Mikel’s comments directly, posting on Instagram: “Mikel Obi, shut your mouth, don’t talk sh*t, we are killing ourselves for Africa.”
The post made his feelings about the criticism clear, and the Chelsea fans praised his response, both on and off the pitch.
