The Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia is passionate about transforming Benue State for the common good. Never in the history of Benue State has spontaneous development in all spheres of life been felt like this as it is evident in the government of Alia.
A transformer functions under the law of energy conservation, which states that energy can neither be created nor destroyed, only transformed. Therefore, a transformer does not make electricity, it merely changes the voltage to suit the needs of the user. This is a exactly what Gov. Alia is doing. He is doing what the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has empowered him to do to benefit the good people of Benue State and not acting against the Nigerian constitution.
That is why he is synonymous to a transformer because he sends voltage ( duties, projects, etc.) to naked wires (departments, agencies etc. including his appointees) to get to the users (the masses).
Article II of the Constitution of Nigeria vests the executive power of the state in the governor and charges him with the execution of state law, alongside the responsibility of appointing state executive, diplomatic, regulatory, and judicial officers subject to the approval of the Assembly members.
As a state manager, Gov. Alia is responsible for implementing state laws and overseeing the operation of the state executive branch. As a state leader, Alia advances and pursues new and revised policies and programmes using a variety of tools, among them executive orders, executive budgets, and legislative proposals and vetoes. As chief of the state, he serves as the intergovernmental liaison to the federal government on behalf of the state.
Alia carries out his management and leadership responsibilities and objectives with the support and assistance of department and agency heads, whom he is empowered to appoint.
Although Governors have many roles and responsibilities in common, the scope of gubernatorial power varies from state to state in accordance with state constitutions, legislation, and tradition.
So if you think you can undermine the powers of the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, you will be consumed by it. That is why those who go close to a transformer that has not been switched off are extremely careful because their lives are in great danger. Once the transformer blows off, they are gone.
Those trying to undermine Alia, the transformer are on a suicide mission with no rescue team available which means if anything goes wrong, they are gone!
