Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has denied knowledge of the All Progressives Congress (APC) State Executive Committee Meeting allegedly announced by former state chairman, Mr. Austin Agada.
The meeting, purportedly scheduled for Thursday, August 15th, 2024, has been called off by the Governor, who warned of consequences if any person or group attempts to disrupt the peace of the state by convening an unauthorized meeting.
As the APC leader in the state and Chief Security Officer, Alia emphasized that no legitimate gathering can take place without his knowledge. He stressed that Nigeria and Benue State are not lawless, and those attempting to undermine state authority will face the consequences.
“I am still the APC leader in the state, and no APC meeting can be summoned without my knowledge,” Alia said. “Those who think they can undermine the authority of the state must know this and know peace.”
