The Abia State Government has refuted claims that it received 20 trucks of rice as palliative from the Federal Government. In a statement, the government dismissed reports of receiving the rice consignment, describing them as “fake news”.
Additionally, the government denied reports that the Federal Government distributed 50kg bags of rice to states for sale at N40,000, stating that this claim is also “fake news”.
The government’s clarification comes amidst widespread speculation and misinformation about the distribution of palliatives to states. The Abia State Government has assured citizens that it will provide accurate information on any support received from the Federal Government.
