Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has extended his heartfelt condolences to the family, the Tiv Area Traditional Council (TATC), and the people of Jechira over the passing of the Tor Jechira, His Royal Highness, Chief Clement Kparevfa Uganden. The traditional ruler died on Thursday, July 25th, 2024, in a London hospital.
Governor Alia described the death of Chief Uganden as a sad loss, stating that his demise has robbed the Jechira and Tiv Nation of his positive contributions and wise counsel as a traditional ruler, father, and opinion leader. He acknowledged the late chief’s significant contributions to conflict resolution and preservation of customs and traditions during his tenure as Chairman of Jechira Intermediate Area Traditional Council.
The Governor praised Chief Uganden’s wise counsel, which will be deeply missed by his people. He prayed for God’s comfort and solace for the chief’s family, the Jechira people, and the entire state, and for the soul of the departed traditional ruler to rest in peace.
