The court proceedings saw the plaintiff, Cosmas, attempting to challenge the validity of the primary elections that resulted in the adoption of Dr. Dennis Osahon Aikoriogie as the consensus NRM candidate. However, Justice Emeka Nwite deemed that the plaintiff could not substantiate their claims, ultimately affirming Dr. Aikoriogie as the legitimate candidate representing NRM in the Edo state gubernatorial race.
