Kaduna, Nigeria – Tragedy has struck the family of a Kaduna State female judge, Janet Galadima, as her 14-year-old son, Victor, was killed by bandits who abducted her and her four children on Sunday, June 23, 2024. The bandits, who demanded a hefty ransom, shot Victor dead on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, when their demands were not met.
According to Gloria Ballason, CEO of the House of Justice, the judge and her children were taken hostage by fifteen armed men at their residence while her husband, a medical doctor, was away on duty. Ballason condemned the abduction and murder, calling on Nigerian security agencies, the Kaduna State government, the Nigeria Bar Association, and the judiciary to ensure the safe release of the remaining hostages and justice for the family.
The Kaduna State chapter of the Nigeria Medical Association also condemned the incident, urging security agencies to take action. The family’s ordeal has sent shockwaves throughout the community, highlighting the escalating insecurity in the region.
